Celebrating 7/10

National dab day - 7/10 - is the second biggest cannabis holiday for many consumers. Where 4/20 was celebrated for decades, 710 is a relatively new holiday and is focused only on cannabis concentrates.

Concentrates are a form of cannabis that has been extracted from the plant using various methods, such as solvents, heat, pressure or ice. They have a high potency of THC, ranging from 70% to 99%. Concentrates can have different names and textures, such as shatter, wax, budder or oil, depending on the extraction process and consistency.

In the 1970s, some cannabis enthusiasts experimented with hash oil using butane or alcohol. However, it was not until the 1990s and 2000s that concentrates became more popular and accessible, especially in states with legal medical or recreational cannabis markets. Concentrates have several advantages over smoking dried cannabis buds, such as faster onset, longer-lasting effects, more flavor and less odor.

The 7/10 holiday seems to have started in California. If you’re struggling to see the reason for the date, write it upside down and backward. 7/10 spells out OIL.

The growth of cannabis concentrates in the United States has been nothing short of explosive. From shatter to wax to oil, these potent products have taken the market by storm.

Many consumers love concentrates because they offer a more intense and pure high than smoking or vaping flower. Others say it's because they are more discreet and convenient to use. And some say it's because they just love dabbing. Whatever the reason, one thing is clear: cannabis concentrates are here to stay.

As the popularity of cannabis concentrates grew, so did the awareness of 7/10. Many cannabis retailers now offer discounts and deals on their products on this day, hoping to attract more customers and boost sales. Some give away free dabs or samples to loyal patrons. Others host contests and raffles where people win prizes such as dab rigs, torches, or gift cards. Many now offer educational workshops or demonstrations to teach people about cannabis concentrates.

7/10 is now a widely recognized holiday in the cannabis community, and a great opportunity for people to enjoy their favorite form of cannabis.
